Strivocal is now available on Google Play. If you use an Android phone or tablet, you can now record your voice, see real-time feedback, and revisit your practice in the app.
The idea is the same as on iOS and the web: give you a place to try something, listen back, and understand what changed. Whether you are rehearsing a speech, working on a song, practicing lines, or exploring your voice, the Android release brings those tools to another device you use every day.
Start with something small
You do not need a long session or a perfect plan to begin. Pick a word, phrase, or sentence from the practice cards, or record something of your own. As you speak or sing, Strivocal gives you feedback on pitch, formants, volume, and perceived gender. Save a take, listen back, and use what you notice to decide what to try next.
As we discussed in Common Voice Training Mistakes, a short, focused session you can return to is often more useful than trying to do everything at once. Having the app on your phone makes it easier to fit that practice into your day.
Come back and hear what changed
One recording captures a moment. Keeping recordings gives you something to compare with as you continue practicing. You can return to an earlier take, hear how you approached the same phrase, and look at the acoustic feedback alongside it.
The Android app also includes the progress tracking and optional transcripts introduced in our recent release. The Progress tab brings together your practice time, active days, and recording history. When you enable transcription, you can select a word in the transcript to replay that part of the recording. That makes it easier to move from reviewing your routine to listening closely to a particular sentence.
Bring another listener into the process
Sometimes the most useful next step is to let someone else hear what you are working on. You can share a recording and its acoustic feedback with a friend, practice group, teacher, or voice coach, giving them a specific example to respond to.
That is part of how Strivocal fits into voice training. It helps you practice and review your recordings between conversations or lessons, while a voice coach brings guidance and perspective that an app cannot replace.
